Fall/Winter 2023 Trends

living in miami can make it a bit hard to participate in fall/winter trends (especially as i'm writing this in november and its 85 out and i was sweating on my morning coffee walk). but, nonetheless here are some of my favorite trends for the season.

quiet luxury

ok, i almost wasn't going to bother including this because i know its been *the trend* for a few seasons now. but it really is still going strong so here we are. think loro piana, the row, khaite, etc. think classic, clean, elevated. not flashy, not branded, but always refined and tailored to perfection. what i love about this trend is that the wearability and practicality are there. while quality is always at the forefront of this trend, that doesn't always have to translate to expensive. while i do believe in investing in your staples, you can still get a look for less here if you're shopping with the right fabrics and structures in mind.

cold shoulder

this one is kind of giving me high school flashbacks with the off shoulder obsession but it somehow feels much more chic this time around. off the shoulder is fully back and i'm kind of here for it.

i just ordered this dress from reformation that feels like the perfect classic little black dress, with just enough of a trendy touch that i can participate in the trend for the season and still continue to enjoy for years after.

more metal

from metallic leather pants, chainmail skirts, foiled clutches and more, metallics are still going strong for this fall + winter season. i finally just ordered this little clutch from edie parker i've had my eye on for months and i'm on the hunt for the right silver kitten heel as well.

coming in clutch

one of the most prevalent trends we saw across the runways this season was the clutch. slouchy, structured, tweed, shearling. all the colors, textures and shapes you can imagine. the clutch is the bag of the season.

cherry red, butter yellow + baby blues

while we're still seeing a lot of the standard colors this year - 50 shades of beige, camel and beyond, chocolatey browns, etc. we also saw some fun pops of pastels from glacial baby blues to rich buttery yellows and pops of bright cherry red. i love pastels for the colder months, especially when you're somewhere cooler and drearier it helps to incorporate a bit of fun into your day to day. something that's nice about a color trend is that no matter the climate, it's something you can incorporate into your outfits. another plus is when you have classics like red as a "trend" because you can justify a splurge item a bit more than if the season color was lime green.

some pieces that i'm shopping. . .

which trends will you be participating in this season?
